Privacy Policy

What we collect

• Account details: your email address, and your name and profile picture if you sign in with Google.
• Age check: the time you confirmed you meet our minimum age. Your date of birth is used once for the check and is never stored.
• Your creations: the words you type, the scene and options you choose, and the lyrics, audio, images and videos we generate for you.
• Credits and purchases: your credit balance and history, plan status, and order records from our payment partner. We never see or store your full card details.
• Security information: IP address, approximate country, network provider, a signed device cookie and bot-check results, used to keep accounts and free credits safe from abuse.
• Usage information: pages you visit and how you use the site, collected through Google Analytics.

How we use it

• to sign you in and run your account;
• to write, record and render your creations;
• to manage credits, plans, payments and refunds;
• to prevent fraud, spam and abuse of free credits;
• to answer your messages and send important service emails, such as sign-in codes;
• to understand how the site is used and make it better;
• to meet legal obligations.

Where the law requires a legal basis, we rely on providing the service you asked for, our legitimate interest in keeping it safe and improving it, your consent where we ask for it, and legal obligations.

Who helps us run MakeARap

We share information only with the service providers we need, and only for the purposes above:

• Cloudflare: hosting, database, file storage and bot checks (Turnstile);
• Google: Google sign-in and Google Analytics;
• Resend: delivery of sign-in code emails;
• Waffo: payment processing as merchant of record, including tax;
• AI model providers, reached through our API gateway APIMart: the words you type and your lyrics are sent to the models that write, record and render your creation, such as Anthropic, DeepSeek, xAI and Google for lyrics, Suno for music, OpenAI for transcription, and image and video models for scenes and performances.

We may also disclose information when the law requires it, to protect people’s safety or rights, or as part of a sale or merger of the service.

Raps you share

A share link lets anyone who has it view and play that rap. Raps you share may also be featured in our examples or gallery. Email us if you want a shared or featured rap taken down.

Cookies and similar technology

• a sign-in cookie that keeps you signed in;
• a signed device cookie used for security and to protect free credits;
• an age-check cookie that remembers you passed the check;
• cookies set by Cloudflare Turnstile for bot checks, and by Google Analytics to measure visits;
• browser storage that keeps your drafts and in-progress recordings on your device.

You can clear cookies in your browser settings, but you will be signed out and some features may stop working.

International transfers

Our providers may process information in the United States and other countries. Where required, we rely on safeguards such as standard contractual clauses.

How long we keep it

We keep account information and creations while your account is open. When you ask us to delete your account, we delete or anonymise your personal information within 30 days, except records we must keep for tax, accounting or legal reasons, and security logs kept for a limited time.

Your choices and rights

Depending on where you live, you can ask to access, correct, delete or export your personal information, object to or restrict some uses, and withdraw consent. To make a request, email support@makearap.com from the address on your account. We may need to confirm it is you before acting.

If you are in the EU, UK or a similar region, you can also complain to your local data protection authority. We do not sell or share personal information for targeted advertising.

Children

MakeARap is not for children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect their information. If you believe a child under 13 has created an account, email us and we will delete it.

Security

We use encryption in transit, access controls and signed cookies to protect your information. No online service can be completely secure, so please keep your sign-in email safe.

Changes to this policy

We will post any update here with a new date, and tell you about significant changes by email or on the site.

Photos and characters (dressing room)

If you make a character in the dressing room, you upload one photo. Your browser shrinks it and strips its metadata first. We collect the photo, the consent you confirm, and the character you create: its picture, name, style, voice gender and a one-line description of its look.

The photo is sent to Zhipu AI, a service provider in China, which reads it once to check that it shows one adult or one cat or dog and that it is suitable. It is then sent to our image model provider, which draws the character. We do not send these providers your name or email.

We delete the photo from our storage as soon as the character is made, or as soon as a check or generation fails, with an automatic deletion after one day as a backup. We do not create or store face templates or other biometric data, we do not clone voices, and we do not use your photo to train models.

The character picture stays in your account until you delete it; deleting the character deletes the picture. Raps you already made keep their own scene images and videos. Closing your account deletes your characters.
